Shoriful removes afghanistan skipper shahidi right after lunch0

During the second day of the one-off Test that is being played between Bangladesh and Afghanistan at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium today, Bangladesh’s pacers have continued to take advantage of the bounce off the wicket.

After 17 overs, Afghanistan is now sitting at 76 for four while Bangladesh was bowled out for 382 earlier in the day.

Hashmatullah Shahidi, the captain of Afghanistan’s team, was sent out to the pavilion in his team’s first innings by left-arm quick Shoriful Islam in the second over he bowled after lunch. The visitors were already in a difficult position at that point.

Shahidi was taken aback by Shoriful’s powerful delivery, which was of sufficient length and rebounded sharply. This was Shoriful’s second kill. Even though Shahidi tried to play a forward defensive stroke and took one hand off at the very last second, he was unable to escape getting a leading edge to the gully, where Mehedi Hasan Miraz sprang up to make a well-judged catch.

Up to this point, both Shoriful and Ebadot Hossain have got a piece of the pie.
