On Thursday, the Sher-e-Bangla National stadium indoor premises in Mirpur saw Bangladesh Test and T20I skipper Shakib Al Hasan begin bowling with a brief run-up as he continues his recovery from a finger injury.

Shakib Al Hasan is the captain of both the Test and T20I teams for Bangladesh.

Over the last few days, the great all-rounder has been improving his fitness and has been spotted practicing with the Tigers spin coach Rangana Herath.

Despite the fact that Shakib had broken the index finger on his hand that he does not use for bowling, the star cricketer bowled with a shorter run-up today as part of his recovery procedure.

The star cricketer is making rapid progress in his recovery, and the management of the squad is keeping their fingers crossed that Shakib will be able to play in the next one-day international (ODI) series against Afghanistan.

“I have viewed his X-Ray, and everything seems to be in order. Dr. Debashish Chowdhury, the head physician for the BCB, made the following statement to the media today: “We are hopeful that he will be able to participate in the upcoming ODI series.”

Last month in Chelmsford, during the second match of the three-match ODI series against Ireland, the 36-year-old sustained an injury to his finger, which ultimately led to his being ruled out for the lone Test that is now being played against Afghanistan.
