The first one-day international match of the three-match series between Bangladesh and Afghanistan was held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Wednesday.

The match was the first in an over-the-counter competition between the two countries.

While attempting to reach 164 runs, Afghanistan were in a strong position with 83 runs scored on the board despite losing two wickets.

To claim victory, Hashmatullah Shaidi’s team must to score 81 runs in the remaining 21.2 overs.

Both Shahidi and the opener Ibrahim Zadran remained unblemished with their respective scores of 41 and nine respectively.
