Rain halts chennai's chase against gujarat in ipl final0

The Chennai Super Kings were attempting to win the Indian Premier League final against the Gujarat Titans when play was stopped for the second day in a row on Monday because of rain in Ahmedabad. Gujarat Titans were the reigning champions.

Rain pulled the players off the field on a reserve day after a heavy rainstorm wiped out play on Sunday. When the players left the field, Chennai had reached four without loss after three deliveries by the pace spearhead for Gujarat, Mohammed Shami.

As evidenced by the fact that thousands of supporters have returned to the world’s largest cricket stadium dressed in the yellow jersey of the superstar, it is widely thought that the final will be Chennai skipper MS Dhoni’s farewell match.

After being given the opportunity to bat first, Gujarat batsman Sai Sudharsan blasted 96 runs to lead his side to 214-4, which is the highest total ever reached in an IPL final.
