On Wednesday, Sevilla defeated AS Roma 4-1 on penalties to win the Europa League for a record-extending seventh time. The victory also marked Jose Mourinho’s first loss in any of the six European finals he had competed in.

Yassine Bounou, the goalkeeper for Sevilla, made saves on penalty kicks taken by Gianluca Mancini and Roger Ibanez, but Sevilla were perfect in their execution and scored the first four goals of the match. After the completion of extra time, the score was 1-1.

The Italians seized the lead in the game owing to a goal scored by Paulo Dybala off of a counterattack in the 35th minute. However, Sevilla regained control of the game and got the equalizer in the 55th minute courtesy to an own goal scored by Mancini.

The victory ensures that Sevilla will take part in the Champions League tournament despite the fact that they did not place in the top four of the LaLiga.
