As the 15-man Bangladesh squad for the next one-day international series against Afghanistan at home was released on Saturday, both Afif Hossain and Naim Sheikh were included in the group of players who made the cut for the national team.

In addition to Afif and Naim, bowler Taskin Ahmed, who was out during the last series against Ireland because of an injury, has also made his way back into the lineup.

In the meanwhile, batters Yasir Ali and Rony Talukdar were cut from the previous team, along with pacer Mrittunjoy Chowdhury, who was replaced by Taskin. Taskin took over for Mrittunjoy Chowdhury.

The team’s selectors decided to bring Afif back into the lineup after he was benched for the England series owing to a string of unsuccessful performances. On the other hand, Naim was able to make a successful comeback to the team after an absence of two years thanks to an outstanding performance in the Dhaka Premier League, in which he ended as the league’s top run-scorer.

The first one-day international match of the series versus Afghanistan is scheduled to take place at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on July 5. The second and third matches are scheduled to be played there on July 8 and 11, respectively.
