Defending champions Gujarat Titans defeated Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League by 55 runs, thanks to a strong batting performance by David Miller and Abhinav Manohar.

Miller, who is left-handed, scored 46 runs off 22 balls, while Manohar, a young Indian player, scored 42 runs off 21 balls. Together, they helped Gujarat reach a total of 207-6 in their home city of Ahmedabad.

During the Miller-Manohar show, Gujarat scored 94 runs in the last six overs due to seven sixes and an unbeaten 20 runs in five balls by Rahul Tewatia.

Gujarat’s bowlers successfully restricted Mumbai to a score of 152-9, with help from Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad who took five wickets collectively.

Last year’s IPL champions, Gujarat, have moved up to the second position in the current season’s standings, behind Chennai Super Kings who have won the tournament four times.

The Gujarat team dominated the evening, especially the batters, with Shubman Gill leading the way with his 56 off 34 balls at the largest cricket stadium in the world.

After Gill scored his third fifty of the season and left the field, Miller and Manohar took charge and aggressively attacked the opposing team with several fours and sixes.

Although neither of the batsmen reached fifty, there were many sixes hit during the innings, and Tewatia, a left-handed player, contributed to his team’s highest total in the IPL.

Arjun Tendulkar, son of Sachin Tendulkar, improved from his previous match where he gave away 31 runs in one over. He only gave away nine runs and got a wicket in his two overs in the next match.

After the dismissal of Mumbai’s captain Rohit Sharma by Hardik Pandya, Mumbai was never able to catch up in the game as they lost wickets consistently.

Rashid took two wickets with his leg spin in one over, and Noor, an 18-year-old Afghan, also took three wickets with his bowling.

Cameron Green, an expensive Australian cricket player in Mumbai, scored 33 runs before being dismissed by Noor’s left-arm wrist spin. Noor also quickly got Tim David out for no score.
