At the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Saturday, Bangladesh won the lone test match by a record 546 runs after bowling out Afghanistan for 115 runs in the first session on day four of the competition.
The match was the first one of its kind.
Afghanistan, who started their second innings on 45 for two, were only able to add 70 runs to their overnight total today as the Bangladesh pacers cranked up the pressure. Afghanistan is now trying to chase a massive total of 661 runs.
Both Taskin Ahmed and Shoriful Islam took three wickets each, with Taskin Ahmed taking four.
The winning margin in terms of runs is the highest in the past 89 years of the format, making it the third-largest in the annals of Test cricket’s long and illustrious history.
