Bangladesh Beginning on Tuesday, one of the teams will compete against their counterparts from the West Indies in the first of three matches that will each last for four days at the Sylhet International Cricket stadium.
The 15-member Caribbean team will be led by Joshua Da Silva, and it will contain a few players who have already competed in test matches, such as left-handed opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul, left-handed all-rounder Raymon Reifer, bowler Anderson Phillip, and left-arm spinner Gudakesh Motie. Da Silva will be the captain of the Caribbean squad.
Bangladesh, which is captained by Afif Hossain, too has a formidable team that features a combination of inexperienced players and veterans.
Prior to the announcement of the national squad for the next one-off test against Afghanistan at home, the selector for the Tigers national team, Habibul Bashar, stated that they will carefully monitor the players’ performances in this series.
Consequently, hitters like Zakir Hasan, Shadman Islam, Saif Hasan, and Mohammad Naim would be looking to make a comeback to the national side, while younger players like Shahadat Hossain Dipu, Mushfique Hasan, Ripon Mondol, and others would also want to make a mark.
In addition, Sylhet will serve as the location for the second and third “Tests,” each of which will last for a period of four days and take place on May 16 and 30, respectively.
