As the game neared its end, the Dortmund coach, Edin Terzic, made substitutions by introducing new players such as team captain Marco Reus and young forward Youssoufa Moukoko.
Moukoko, who scored two goals in a previous match between the teams, almost scored immediately in this match but was stopped by a quick save from Manuel Riemann.
Riemann once again saved Bochum by stopping a curling shot from English teenager Jude Bellingham with his outstretched hand less than a minute after his previous save.
Hummels scored a goal with only one minute left in the game, but it was disallowed due to offside, which made the visiting team’s fans happy and the Bavarian team’s fans celebrate.
