Zimbabwe’s squad for the T20Is against Ireland has undergone several changes. The Chevrons had previously failed to qualify for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2024, having failed to advance past the Africa Region Qualifier.
Brian Bennett, a middle-order batter, and Trevor Gwandu, a quick bowler, are among the newcomers.
Brandon Mavuta, a leg spinner, and hitter Tony Munyonga have also been called up.
Tendai Chatara, Wellington Masakadza (left arm spinner), and openers Innocent Kaia and Nick Welch are among those who have been dropped.
Craig Ervine, who was injured following the first game of the Africa Qualifier due to a groyne injury, returns to the 15-man squad. Sikandar Raza leads the team, which also features regulars Sean Williams, Richard Ngarava, Blessing Muzarabani, and Ryan Burl.
The three-match T20I series gets underway on December 7 at Harare Sports Club.
