Mahfuza Akter Kiron, who is in charge of the women’s wing of the Bangladesh Football Federation, said that the BFF has paid for the women’s football team to stay at Hotel InterContinental, where the Nepal team is living, even though the hotel is broke.

The AFC executive member also said that the federation took this step to cheer up the football players, who will play two FIFA matches against Nepal on July 13 and 16.

Kiron said at a news meeting at the BFF house on Wednesday, “The girls weren’t supposed to stay at the hotel because BFF isn’t that rich and the girls are used to staying at the BFF dormitory.”

In the past, when the Bangladesh women’s football teams played friendly games in Dhaka, they always stayed at the BFF dorms, while foreign teams stayed at nice hotels. There has been a lot of criticism about this problem in the past, which could be why the local governing body of the game decided to put them up in a hotel.

“We don’t have enough money to pay for the girls to stay at the hotel. But we’re doing this so they don’t feel sad,” Kiron said.
