‘virat is perfect for no. 4’ 0

According to former South African great AB de Villiers, Virat Kohli may be the solution to India’s World Cup No.4 issue.

We’re still debating who will be India’s No. 4 hitter, remarked Kohli’s former IPL partner on his YouTube channel ‘AB de Villiers 360’. I’ve heard some rumors that Virat (Kohli) would fill that role. I would be a strong advocate for it.

“Virat is ideal for No. 4, in my opinion. He can complete the innings and fill any position in the middle of the order. I’m not sure he would want to do that. Although he has scored all of his runs in the No. 3 position, which he obviously enjoys, you have to put your hand up and take the initiative if the team needs you to do something or fill a specific role.

India’s middle order has come up for debate in the lead-up to the Asia Cup and the World Cup since Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul have just recently returned to the team after their protracted injuries.

When India revealed their Asia Cup roster, captain Rohit Sharma emphasized the need for flexibility in the batting order and underlined the need for players to be prepared to bat at any position.

The No. 4 spot is now most likely to go to Iyer, who is recovering from back surgery, although Kohli has had tremendous success in that position in the past.

In his seven hundreds when batting at No. 4, Kohli has a remarkable average of 55.21 and a similarly good strike rate of 90.66. On the other hand, he hasn’t batted in that position since he played against Australia in Mumbai in January 2020.

KL Rahul’s health is still a concern, and he might miss at least two games in the Asia Cup, which begins on August 30, despite Iyer appearing fine at India’s Asia Cup training camp in Alur.
