On Sunday afternoon, the Bangladesh national cricket team arrived in Colombo after departing from Dhaka in the morning for the Asia Cup.
Bangladesh’s first match against the Lankans is set to take place in Kandy on August 31 before the cricket world cup gets off on August 30 in Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
The Tigers were forced to depart without two of their players in order to prepare for their last group match against Afghanistan in Lahore on September 3. Liton Das, the team’s regular opener, was unable to join his colleagues because of a sickness, while Tanzim Hasan Sakib, a late substitute for pacer Ebadot Hossain, is yet to get a ticket.
