Bangladesh is going to play against a new team, Turkmenistan, in the AFC U-17 Women’s Asia Cup Qualifiers Round-1 at Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore. The match will start at 8:00pm (BST).

Bangladesh has previously qualified for the AFC U-16 Women’s Championship Qualifiers in 2017 and 2019 and is now hoping to advance to the finals of the AFC U-17 Women’s Asia Cup.

To proceed further, they must first win Round-1 of the Qualifiers, in which they are competing against Turkmenistan and the hosts.

Turkmenistan will make their first appearance against Bangladesh in an U-17 competition. However, a Bangladesh U-20 team previously defeated Turkmenistan 4-0 in the AFC U-20 Women’s Asia Cup Qualifiers in March 2019 in Dhaka.

The head coach, Golam Rabbani Choton, expressed the significance of the upcoming game for the girls and expressed his hope that they will exhibit their true abilities and come out as winners.

Turkmenistan is participating in the tournament for the first time, and they are expected to give their best effort. The speaker emphasizes the importance of respect for opponents, regardless of their perceived strength. They also express confidence that their team can win if they perform as usual.
