Rain has caused a delay in the beginning of the second One-Day International that will be played between Bangladesh and Ireland on Friday in Chelmsford. Cricket Ireland said in a tweet that due to the weather, the coin toss would be postponed.
On Tuesday, the opening one-day international of the three-match series was called off due to rain. Before the interruption caused by rain, Ireland’s innings in response to Bangladesh’s 246 had progressed to the point where they were three down and had scored 65 runs in 16.3 overs.
Because of the weather, Ireland’s prospects of immediately qualifying for the ODI World Cup have been completely wiped out. Despite this, Bangladesh would want to have more points to their name and a strong preparation for playing in circumstances outside of their own country after they recently won the home series against Ireland by a score of 2-0.
