The Bangladesh Women’s team will be travelling to Sri Lanka tomorrow to compete in three ODIs and three T20Is against the Sri Lankan team. The ODI series is a part of the ICC Women’s Championship.
The Tigresses haven’t played since February when they participated in the T20 World Cup in South Africa. They will now travel to Sri Lanka to improve their performance. In the previous tournament, they failed to win any matches and finished last in their group.
The weather and conditions in Sri Lanka will be a challenge for the team, so they have built their team with that in mind. The team consists of senior players, experienced stars, and upcoming young stars who recently played in the U-19 World Cup. Some seniors have been rested due to the many series they will play this year, both at home and away. Fitness will also be important. They will play practice matches for each format, with the matches taking place in Colombo. Every match is important for the team. Selector Monjurul Islam gave this information in a media release.
On April 27th, Bangladesh will have their inaugural one-day practice game against Board President XI. Three ODIs are scheduled to take place on April 29, May 2, and May 4.
There will be a practice match for the T20 format against Board President’s XI on May 7, which will be followed by a three-match T20I series on May 9, 11, and 12.
