The Bangladesh women’s team, called the Tigresses, will start getting ready for the Asian Games in September by going to Sylhet next Sunday to start fitness training.

On August 14, the team will start training at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium. Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) officials say that the players of the national team went through screening tests on Wednesday at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur. On Friday, they will go through the Yo-Yo fitness test at the same place.

The camp’s 26-person team will train in Sylhet until the end of August.

During their recent home game against India, a lot of young players got to show off their skills. This was done so that the team management could plan for the T20 World Cup in 2024, which will be held in Bangladesh.

A few poor results have made the team’s leaders realize that they need to stress the importance of health before the Asian Games.

“The camp will be all about getting fit. “Even though we’ve been doing well lately, we need to get a lot better,” a member of the team’s management told The Daily Star yesterday.

The Tigresses hope to do well at the Asian Games, so they will continue to train after the camp in Sylhet.
