Bangladesh women’s cricket team will try to secure their first series win over South Africa in any format when they face the hosts in the final Twenty20 encounter of the three-match series today in Kimberly.
Shorna Akter’s five-wicket haul spurred the Tigresses to a 13-run victory in the series opener on December 3 at Benoni, their first ever win in South African soil in any format.
Because the second match was called off owing to rain on Wednesday, the visitors cannot lose the series even if they falter in the final T20.
Today, the Nigar Sultana Joty-led team will try to go all out for the kill and end their tour with a historic series win.
Following the T20s, Bangladesh will play a three-match One-Day International (ODI) series against the hosts, beginning on December 16 at Buffalo Park in East London.
They will have a tour match at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein on December 12 to prepare for the 50-over format.
They will then go to Potchefstroom for the second ODI before returning to Benoni for the last game of their South African tour.
