Bangladesh will play New Zealand XI in their only practice match of the New Zealand tour on Thursday, in what will be their only opportunity to get some match experience ahead of a challenging series against the Kiwis.

The game will take place at the Lincoln University stadium in Christchurch and will begin at 4:00 a.m. Bangladesh time. The Tigers will face a home squad, as none of New Zealand’s ODI and T20I squads for the series have been named.

The Bangladesh team traveled to New Zealand in two groups, with the second group comprising of five players who participated in the home Test series against the same opponents, joining the squad yesterday afternoon.

Despite having little time to adjust to the conditions, team manager Nafees Iqbal told the cricketers that they were ready for the contest.

“All of the players are healthy and ready for the practice game tomorrow [today].” “The first group, which arrived a few days ago, has gone through two training sessions in Christchurch,” Nafees told The Daily Star yesterday.

Najmul Hossain Shanto and his team will face the Kiwis in three ODIs and three T20Is. The tour will go off on December 17 with the opening ODI in Dunedin.
