Tonight, Taskin Ahmed, a fast bowler, and Mushfiqur Rahim, a wicketkeeper who bats, will fly to Zimbabwe to play in the Zim-Afro T10 League.
Taskin, who will play for Bulawayo Braves, took out two of Afghanistan’s batsmen in the second T20I on Sunday. This helped Bangladesh win the series 2-0.
Taskin and Shakib Al Hasan, the captain of both the Test and T20 teams for Bangladesh, took Afghanistan star Rashid Khan’s private flight from Sylhet to Dhaka after the second match on Sunday night. Rashid was supposed to fly to the U.S. to play in the Major League Cricket (MLC). His team, MI New York, was supposed to send a private flight to get him there.
On the other hand, Joburg Buffaloes signed Mushfiqur right away. Only Taskin and Mushfiqur, both from Bangladesh, play cricket in the league.
This will be Taskin’s first time playing in a foreign franchise cricket game, and the pacer is excited to make it one to remember.
“I’m looking forward to playing in my first foreign club league. I did have the chance to play in leagues all over the world, but they didn’t work out,” Taskin told the Daily Star after the second game.
The 28-year-old has been in good form recently across all formats, and he wants to keep it up to make the most of this chance.
“I’m sticking to my plan and always doing my best. I’ve been working on my swing and also learned how to bowl with my knuckles, which I did in the second T20I. “T10 is a fast-paced game where every over is considered a death over, so I will keep that in mind and bowl accordingly,” said Taskin.
In the first Zim Afro T10 League season, there will be five teams: the Harare Hurricanes, the Joburg Buffaloes, the Durban Qalandars, the Bulawayo Braves, and the Cape Town Samp Army.
The event will start on July 20 and end on July 29 with the final. All of the games will be held in the city of Harare.
