Suryakumar Yadav of India cemented his spot atop the batters list of the MRF Tyres ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings with a quick-fire half-century against South Africa in Gqeberha on Tuesday. The captain has 865 ratings points in the weekly update, which takes into account the week’s performances up to December 12th.

Yadav hit 56 off 36 deliveries for a total of 10 rating points, extending his lead as the top-ranked batter in T20 international cricket.

In other developments since the match, Rinku Singh’s star has risen 46 spots to 59th among batters, following his stunning and undefeated 68 from 39 balls, which elevated him to a career-high 464 rating points. In his 11 T20 international matches, the 26-year-old has an average of 82.66 and a strike rate of 183.70.

South Africa led the three-match series 1-0 after the first match in Durban was rained out. He advanced 59 places to 55th in the batters list with 502 points, then 20 places to 65th in the bowlers list with 290 points, and 42 places to 24th (145 points) in the all-rounders list.

Ajaz Patel, Phillips’ colleague, advanced seven places to 33rd on the bowlers’ list, while Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan (up two spots to 21st) and Nayeem Hasan (up five slots to 44th) also advanced.

Player of the Series and Windies captain, Shai Hope’s exploits saw him park just shy of the top 10 of the batters list in the new MRF Tyres ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings, which follow West Indies’ historic 2-1 series win against England. He remains in 11th place with 699 points.
