MKS Sports, based in Rajshahi, has acquired authority from the International Cricket Council (ICC) to use its logo on bats and other equipment used in international cricket.
“We received the confirmation on the 11th,” said HM Aftab, managing director of MKS Sports, adding that the permission was subject to a series of ICC reviews.
The ICC’s senior cricket operations manager, Clive Hitchcock, approved the move in an email to Aftab.
MKS Sports has established a cricket bat manufacturing business in Rajshahi’s Bongram district.
Along with Aftab, Bangladesh cricketers Mehedi Hasan Miraz and Imrul Kayes are co-owners of MKS.
Aftab has made cricket bats for various national team players. MKS Sports can now sponsor international cricketers and plaster their logo on their cricket equipment, thanks to the ICC’s sanction.
