Sheffield United secured their return to the Premier League by winning 2-0 against West Bromwich Albion at Bramall Lane on Wednesday, causing great celebration among the fans.

Paul Heckingbottom’s team won against Albion with goals from Sander Berge and Anel Ahmedhodzic, securing the second automatic promotion spot in the Championship with three games remaining.

United raced towards the end, winning six out of their last seven games and securing second place. They are now seven points ahead of third-placed Luton, who only have two games left.

Sheffield United was demoted from the top league in 2021 and was defeated by Nottingham Forest in the Championship play-offs last season. However, their coach, Heckingbottom, has skillfully led the team back to the top tier of English football in his second season in charge.

Sheffield United’s promotion will bring in up to £170 million ($212 million) in revenue over the next three seasons, as they consistently performed well throughout the campaign. This is a well-deserved reward for their efforts.

This season, they made it to the semi-finals of the FA Cup, where they had a surprising victory over Tottenham in the fifth round, but ultimately lost 3-0 to Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday.

United celebrated their promotion one day after Burnley became champions by winning 1-0 against Blackburn.

Burnley’s clear lead over United in the Championship highlights their dominance this season.
