Shanto becomes 2nd bangladesh batter to hit 2 tons in a test0

Only two other Bangladeshi batters before Najmul Hossain Shanto have scored hundreds in both innings in a Test.

After scoring 146 runs in the first innings of the one-off Test against Afghanistan at Mirpur on Friday, the southpaw batsman hit another century, his fourth in Tests, as Bangladesh added to their lead in the second.

After losing his overnight partner Zakir Hasan to a run-out, Shanto made it to triple digits off of 115 deliveries. It took Shanto 118 balls in the first innings to get to 100.

After Zakir’s departure, Shanto was joined by Mominul Haque, who would go on to score two hundred in that Test. At the 2018 Test match at Chattogram between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, Mominul got scores of 175 and 106.
