Shakib stars as montreal win second game in a row0

Yesterday in the Global T20 Canada league, Montreal Tigers defeated Mississauga Panthers by a score of seven wickets, claiming victory over the game after Shakib caused the damage with the bat during the Powerplay and Chris Lynn closed off the chase.

In the second over of the chase after the Panthers had scored 140 for six, Shakib started his batting at number three and hit a drive past mid-on for four runs to get his first run on the board. In the next ball, Jaskarandeep, the pace bowler, had another one of his deliveries beaten for a boundary as he was whipped off through square leg.

In the fifth over of the innings, left-arm spinner Praveen Kumar was the target of Shakib’s aggressiveness since it was a favorable matchup. As a result, Praveen Kumar let up 20 runs in only four deliveries. The first four came as a result of a shot that did not connect properly but still managed to go through short third-man and run away for four. After that, Shakib got a flat six through mid-on by clearing the front foot, and then he danced down the track to smash the following ball straight down the ground for another maximum that soared far over the ropes. He swept really effectively for another four runs, bringing his total to 30 off of 13 deliveries. After the Powerplay, the pace of the game slowed down, and one player puts a stop to the carnage by driving through more cover for four.

He was out in the ninth over, having been lured forward by a ball from Usman Qadir before being hit by a googly, with wicket-keeper Azam Khan being fast to remove the bails. Shakib, who had scored 36 off 24 balls, stormed off the field in disbelief when the judgement that he was out was reached after replays did not seem to be clear enough.

Chris Lynn smashed a 45-ball 64 by hitting nine fours, one six, and one five. After his partnership of 60 runs with Shakib, he then collaborated with Sherfane Rutherford to score 59 runs, which ultimately led to a seven-wicket victory for the Tigers with 4.1 overs still remaining.

Earlier on, Shakib took one wicket for 28 runs, while left-arm seamer Kaleem Sana took three wickets for eight runs as Montreal limited the Panthers’ score to 140, despite James Neesham scoring fifty.

During his all-around effort in Montreal’s most recent match, which resulted in a victory by five wickets, Shakib had also been successful in dismissing fellow countryman Liton Das.
