Rohit should take a break from ipl for time being: gavaskar0

The batting legend Sunil Gavaskar believes that the captain of India and the Mumbai Indians, Rohit Sharma, should take a vacation from the Indian Premier League (IPL) and instead focus on preparing in earnest for India’s forthcoming World Test Championship (WTC) final match against Australia.

After a string of disappointing performances in the T20 league, Gavaskar is under the impression that Rohit’s confidence has taken a knock as a result.
During an interview on Star Sports, Gavaskar stated the following about Rohit Sharma: “I would say that Rohit should maybe take a break for the time being, and keep himself fit for the final of the World Test Championship.”

“He can come back again for the last few matches, but right now, (he should) take a little bit of a breather for himself.”

The Oval in London is set to play host to the WTC final during the dates of June 7-11 this year. As the Chennai Super Kings defeated the Mumbai Indians by a facile six-wicket margin at the Chepauk on Saturday, Rohit’s winless run with the willow continued. This victory broke the Chennai Super Kings’ 13-year-old home curse against the Mumbai Indians.

The Indian captain’s terrible record in the Indian Premier League since the last edition continued as he failed to disturb the scorer for the second time in a row. As a result, Mumbai Indians were forced to settle with a score that was well below par when they faced Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

It was a disappointing performance for Mumbai Indians, and the biggest disappointment for them was the present form of their skipper, who was ejected during the powerplay for the eighth time in this season of the league’s competition.
