The defending champions of the Indian Premier League, the Gujarat Titans, announced on Saturday that Ireland pacer Josh Little will be absent from his team’s upcoming matches since he has returned home to participate in national service.
Little, who is 23 years old, has been selected to be a part of Ireland’s team for the next one-day international series, which will begin on May 9 in Chelmsford.After Gujarat’s game against Rajasthan Royals on Friday in Jaipur, Little made his way back to Gujarat to continue his weekend.
During Gujarat’s thrashing of Rajasthan by nine wickets, the bowler only managed to take one wicket while allowing 24 runs to be scored off of his four overs.
“We wish Josh the best of luck as he heads back to represent Ireland in the ODIs,” said Gujarat cricket director Vikram Solanki in a statement.
Solanki stated that the squad was looking forward to having him return once the one-day international series was over.After the third one-day international against Bangladesh on May 14, Little will make his way back to India to reunite with the Titans.
The state of Gujarat is presently leading the points table in the Twenty20 tournament that is played within India. In their next match, which will take place on Sunday, they will compete against the Lucknow Super Giants.
