Luka Modric, aged 37, played for just over an hour in Real Madrid’s 4-2 loss to Girona before being replaced. Real Madrid hopes to win the Copa del Rey for the 20th time.
Ancelotti informed reporters that the player sustained an injury during the match against Girona and will not be playing. The extent of the injury is uncertain and it is unknown whether he will be fit to play in the Copa match. The team is disappointed by the setback and hopes for a speedy recovery so that he can participate in upcoming crucial games.
