Real Madrid won the Copa del Rey after defeating Osasuna by a score of 2-1 in Seville on Saturday. Rodrygo Goes was the hero for Real Madrid, scoring a clinical double that helped propel the team to victory. Fellow Brazilian Vinicius Junior contributed to both goals.
Madrid, under the direction of Carlo Ancelotti, won their 20th Spanish Cup at La Cartuja in their 40th final, bringing an end to a wait of nine years to once again hoist the trophy.
Ancelotti acknowledged that it was appropriate to rejoice after Real Madrid advanced to the final by virtue of victories over archrivals Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, but he cautioned his players against doing so too much before their match against City.
“This Copa arrived at an important moment, we came through very tricky ties, and it’s a deserved prize against strong opponents,” the coach stated. “We came through very tricky ties.”
This evening, we are going to have a little bit of a celebration—not too much, though—and then we are going to go right back to work on Tuesday.

We accomplished something of tremendous significance by claiming each and every prize that was up for grabs in a span of two years. Now that the big game on Tuesday is almost here, our team is working hard to be ready for it, and we’re in a great mood and looking forward to the contest. Despite my exhaustion, I can’t help but feel happy right now. Tomorrow, we will see all that we have been able to accomplish over the last two seasons.
He responded as follows when questioned on the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals versus Manchester City: “We’re going to compete and fight because we’re so close to another final.” We are going to give it our best effort in order to compete in another championship game. We’re in a good position for Tuesday. We are aware that they will want to push us at the Bernabeu, but in the first leg we have the advantage of 12 players against 11 opponents.
