The recent National Cricket League umpiring dispute prompted the BCB Umpires’ Committee to establish a fact-finding body.
The BCB has pulled six umpires from the Bangladesh Cricket League, which begins today, after evidence of bad umpiring was discovered.
Syed Mozahiduzzaman Swapan, Mohammad Wahid, Joynal Abedin, Shyful Islam Jewel, Shafiuddin Ahmed Babu, and Asad Ur Rahman are the six umpires in question.
The umpires have been officiating for a long time, but their choices on the pitch have frequently been called into doubt by the players.
“We reviewed the videos and requested explanations from the umpires.” The process is still underway, and we discovered that several decisions were incorrect. They have been removed from BCL, and any decision will be made until the entire fact-finding process is concluded,” BCB umpires’ committee chairman Iftekhar Ahmed Mithu said today to The Daily Star.
The umpires in question will not officiate in any matches until the fact-finding committee completes its investigation.
