Pcb to push for neutral venues at wc0

Acting PCB chairman Zaka Ashraf, according to Inter-Provincial Coordination (Sports) Minister Ahsan Mazari, will advocate for playing Pakistan’s ODI World Cup matches at neutral sites at this week’s ICC conference in Durban.

Since the Indian team is unable to travel to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, “Zaka Ashraf will bring up the issue of why can’t Pakistan’s matches in the World Cup be played at neutral venues,” he said.

The PCB has informed the ICC and the BCCI that, given to the strained relations between the two countries, the national team’s participation in the World Cup is contingent on government approval.

Ashraf and Salman Taseer, chief operational officer of the PCB, are in Durban for ICC meetings, where they will likely bring up India’s decision not to send a team to Pakistan because to security concerns.

If India is unwilling to send a team to Pakistan for the Asia Cup, I propose playing our World Cup games in neutral locations. “If the Indian board claims there are security issues in Pakistan, then we have every right to question the safety of our own country,” Mazari added.
