Neymar, a key player for Brazil, expressed excitement at the prospect of a foreign manager leading the Selecao national team, with rumors suggesting that Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti may be in line to take over the role once his current deal with the Spanish club comes to an end.
Ancelotti has stated on several occasions that he intends to honor his contract with Real, which is set to run until 2024, despite the fact that the head of the CBF, Ednaldo Rodrigues, continues to be convinced that he will be able to gain the signature of the Italian coach.
Rodrigues stated that he would also approach the president of the Spanish club, Florentino Perez, and identified Ancelotti as their first candidate to replace Tite, who quit the Brazil squad following their loss from the quarterfinals at the World Cup in Qatar in November. Tite’s departure came shortly after the team’s performance at the tournament.
Rodrigues made these remarks on Tuesday at a press event that took place at the offices of the CBF in Rio de Janeiro. “He remains the Plan A and in this trip with the selection in Europe we can have greater clarity,” Rodrigues added.
The fact that Neymar is open to the thought of having a foreign coach, particularly someone of Ancelotti’s pedigree, only serves to bolster the likelihood of the blockbuster move taking place amidst all of this attention.
The 31-year-old thought Ancelotti was a winner and someone who the Selecao could learn a lot from. He also thought that Ancelotti would have a lot to offer Brazil.
“We will get the option to work with a coach from another country. The Brazilian striker said to TV Band, “Ancelotti has won everything, and I am sure he will teach us a lot.” Ancelotti has won everything.
