East Zone left-arm spinner Nasum Ahmed recorded a five-wicket haul against South Zone in Chattogram, while the third day of Bangladesh Cricket League (BCL) play between Central Zone and North Zone was totally washed out.
Nasum took five wickets for 75 runs, while bowler Rejaur Rahman Raja took three wickets to dismiss South Zone for 282, giving East Zone a 120-run first-innings lead at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium.
Fazle Mahmud led the way with 81, while Mohammad Mithun and Moin Khan scored 49 and 41 for South Zone, respectively.
South Zone could only bowl five overs in a rain-affected third session, but they fought back by taking three wickets for one run.
Mahedi Hasan took two wickets, while Al-Amin Hossain took one.
Meanwhile, the match at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium is likely to end in a draw after rain halted play on Day Three.
In the first innings, North Zone is 45 runs behind Central Zone, having achieved 236-8 with Towhid Hridoy unbeaten on 132 off 138 balls.
