Miraz ‘willing to play’ county cricket if schedule permits0

Following a conversation with English spinner Jake Lintott, Mehedi Hasan Miraz has indicated that he might be interested in playing county cricket in England.

Lintott suggested to his county team Warwickshire that they bring in the Bangladesh all-rounder to compete in the one-day competition during August of the English domestic season.

“Lintott played in our Premier League side [Mohammedan] and plays for Warwickshire, and he informed me that you may play for us in August during a one-day competition. The tournament will take place in Mohammedan. There is a possibility that our calendar may include matches for national teams, and if that occurs, I won’t be able to participate in the game. On the other hand, in the event that we do not have any matches, I will request NOC from the board. Miraz expressed his willingness to compete in a game to The Daily Star on Sunday.

As far as Miraz is concerned, there is around a six-week hiatus of national commitment following the conclusion of the Bangladesh-Afghanistan series on July 16, after which the Asia Cup is scheduled to begin on September 02. The 2023 One-Day Cup will take place in England from August 1 to September 16, while the tournament will continue from August 1 to September 16. There have been no official conversations with Warwickshire at this time.

“Perhaps he [Lintott] advised them to take a look at Mehedi Hasan Miraz,” the author writes. I haven’t had any official conversations with anyone from Warwickshire. If it does take place, it will take place during the month of August,” Miraz added further information.

Lintott said the following in response to a question from The Daily Star: “I suggested him (Miraz) to Warwickshire. Nothing has been decided upon as of yet.”

Before signing his first professional deal with Warwickshire ahead of the 2021 season, Lintott had played with Miraz for Mohammedan Sporting Club in the most recent season of the Dhaka Premier League (DPL). This season of the DPL has already come to a close.

Lintott’s left-arm wrist spin had an effect, and his five-wicket haul against Brothers Union remained the ninth occurrence of a fifer in the most recent DPL season. Mohammedan finished in fifth place in the DPL, but Lintott’s bowling helped them get there. The pair’s combined efforts resulted in 23 wickets being taken for their team, with Lintott claiming 17 of those wickets in just six appearances.
