Liton’s match-winning fifty helps surrey jaguars to third win0

Liton Das, a Bangladeshi wicketkeeper-batter for Surrey Jaguars, finally came through for his team on Tuesday in Brampton by smashing his maiden Global T20 Canada fifty to assist his side to a six-wicket victory against Brampton Wolves. The match took place after Liton Das had lackluster performances in the previous three matches for Surrey Jaguars.

Liton’s match-winning 45-ball 59-run knock meant that Surrey Jaguars cross over the line with 11 balls to spare to secure their third win of this edition. This victory gave Surrey Jaguars their third victory overall in this edition. After deciding to field, Surrey Jaguars reduced Brampton Wolves to 128 for nine.

The Surrey Jaguars were trying to chase down a manageable score when they ran into some trouble when they lost three wickets for only 21 runs in 4.3 overs. The innings was then brought under control by a 99-run partnership between Liton and Pakistan’s Iftikhar Ahmed at the fourth wicket.

Liton got off to a sluggish start, as he did not score a single run in the opening five deliveries of the game. In spite of this, the right-handed hitter worked his way into a rhythm throughout the course of the game, hitting his first boundary in the fifth over and reaching his fifty off of the forty deliveries he faced.

Liton hit a total of three boundaries and three maximums until he was run out in the 18th over. At that point in the game, it seemed like a victory for Surrey Jaguars was almost certain. Iftikhar, the team’s skipper, stayed undefeated with 38 runs after facing 41 deliveries.

Earlier on, the bowling efforts of Surrey Jaguars helped to limit Brampton Wolves to a low score. Ammar Khalid, Matthew Forde, and Ayaan Khan each claimed two wickets as part of this coordinated effort.
