As a huge step forward for the Indian team in preparation for the Twenty20 World Cup 2024, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have returned to the Twenty20 International setup, the first time they have done so since the conclusion of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2022.

In preparation for their Twenty20 International series against Afghanistan, the Indian cricket governing body, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), named a 16-man roster today.

The team is captained by Rohit, while the wicket-keepers are Sanju Samson and Jitesh Sharma. Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, and Axar Patel are just a few of the versatile players on the squad. The leg-spinners will be Ravi Bishnoi and Kuldeep Yadav, while the speed bowlers will be Avesh Khan, Arshdeep Singh, and Mukesh Kumar.

In addition to Tilak Varma, the other hitters on the team are Shubman Gill, Rinku Singh, and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

Rohit Sharma (captain), Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Virat Kohli, Tilak Varma, Rinku Singh, Jitesh Sharma (wicketkeeper), Sanju Samson (wicketkeeper), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Ravi Bishnoi, Kuldeep Yadav, Arshdeep Singh, Avesh Khan, and Mukesh Kumar make up India’s roster for the three Twenty20 Internationals against Afghanistan.

This Twenty20 International series will begin on January 11, 2024, and will consist of three matches.
