Manager Juergen Klopp has said that Liverpool will not slack up in their pursuit of the FA Cup, despite the tough schedule it entails. Klopp added that the Reds would welcome the opportunity to compete on four fronts this season.
On Sunday, the league leaders will travel to north London for a third-round match against Arsenal, the record holders with fourteen FA Cup victories. Together, their 22 FA Cup victories make them two of the tournament’s all-time greats.
The 2021–22 season was a letdown for Liverpool as they attempted a historic quadruple of trophies. Manchester City narrowly defeated them to win the Premier League championship by one point. After defeating Chelsea in the League Cup and FA Cup finals, they had won both trophies.
Klopp wants Liverpool to make the most of their opportunities now that they are in the League Cup semi-finals and the Europa League round of 16.
“The season with the three finals and a really intense Premier League season was intense while we were in it, but it was good fun as well, to be honest,” Klopp told the media.
The games the guys played were entertaining, and I had a fantastic time. The two finals versus Chelsea were the most heated draws I’ve ever seen, with technical levels that were out of this world.
It is an incredible feeling to play at Wembley. I wouldn’t trade it for the world. Excellent, excellent, excellent.
No, you can’t truly consider it (the effect on the next season). We can’t skip a competition because we fear next year we’ll have a harder time. We will need to address that issue then.
