After scoring the game-winning goal in Tottenham Hotspur’s 1-0 victory over Crystal Palace in the Premier League, interim manager Ryan Mason commented that striker Harry Kane is “setting an example for others to follow at the club with his elite mindset.” Mason made these comments after Kane scored the game-winning goal.
Kane scored his 209th goal in the Premier League when he headed the ball in during injury time in the first half. This put him one goal ahead of Wayne Rooney but a considerable distance behind Alan Shearer, who holds the record with 260 goals.
“It is only natural for all of us to discuss Harry’s goals, and Harry will undoubtedly continue to notch goals whenever he participates in football matches. After the Spurs had gone winless for four games in a row before to Saturday’s triumph, Mason informed reporters, “We are aware of that.”
“But also that elite mindset, that example that he sets every day in and around the place, it’s great to be around,” she said. “But also that elite mindset.” Because having individuals in your life like that motivate you to be the best version of yourself, and because of that, we admire Harry and place a high value on him at this football club.
“… in order to get results, you need 11 players on your team who are willing to fight for each other and put in a lot of effort together as a group.” I want that moment when you have your captain, your leader, your goal scorer, and perhaps one of our greatest players setting that example.
Following their win, Tottenham moved up to sixth place in the rankings with 57 points after playing in 35 matches. On Saturday, they will continue their trip by going to Aston Villa.
