The Afghanistan Cricket Board said late Tuesday that India will host three Twenty20s in January. This will be the first time that the two teams have played more than one white-ball series.
In the first match, on January 11, the series will start in Mohali. On January 14, the next match will be there. The last game will be on January 17 in Bengaluru.
Afghanistan was once thought of as a World Cup loser because they had only won one game in their two earlier tournaments.
However, they won four games at the recent big event in India and secured their spot in the Champions Trophy by coming in sixth.
Australia beat India by six wickets in the 50-over World Cup final on Sunday in Ahmedabad.
