On Day Two, India overcame a 79-run deficit in the fourth innings to end the match in the 12th over—the 107th over overall—making it the quickest match in the history of the format.

At the stroke of lunch on the second day, Bumrah took 6-61 to bowl South Africa out for 176 in their second innings. However, the visitors came out firing and won the match in 12 overs when they reached 80 for three.

With Rohit Sharma finishing undefeated at 16 and Shreyas Iyer at 4, the other wickets to fall were Yashasvi Jaiswal at 28, Shubman Gill at 10, and Virat Kohli at 12.
