The Bangladesh national team will be receiving assistance from the Irish Cricket Board in the form of 18 net bowlers. Twelve of these bowlers come from Bangladesh, and they will be used to aid the squad prepare for a forthcoming series in Chelmsford, which will take place in England.
On Wednesday and Thursday at the Liege Cricket Ground in Cambridge, nine out of the twelve net bowlers were given the opportunity to bowl at the Bangladesh players in the nets. These net bowlers were in amazement after brushing shoulders with the sportsmen they’ve spent their whole lives watching on television.
One of these enthusiastic net bowlers was Khaled Ahnaf Audri, who remarked that it was an unreal experience to watch Mushfiqur Rahim bat. Khaled Ahnaf Audri was ecstatic.
“I’ve been a fan of practically all of these athletes since I was little. Some of the people here are rather inexperienced, while others, like Mushfiq (Mushfiqur Rahim), have been playing for quite some time. It was hard for me to accept the fact that he was hitting in front of me. Ebadot (Ebadot Hossain) also has a significant amount of support from me as a fan. According to what he shared with The Daily Star, “it was incredible to see him up close and to talk to him.”
The majority of the net bowlers who participated in the Tigers camp are currently competing in university competitions, while a select handful are even trying their luck in the small county league.
In addition to assisting the visitors in their training and preparation, the net bowlers were also given the opportunity to pick the brain of Bangladesh’s fast-bowling coach, Allan Donald.
“I found it to be rather fascinating. I was interested in hearing what they had to say about it. As someone who competes at the university level, I seldom come across technically oriented conversations like the one you’re having. “It was very enjoyable to hear him talk,” Khaled said. “I enjoyed it.”
“While I was bowling, Allan pointed out a few technical blunders that I had made. He continued by saying, “I will fix them.”
