In order to get away from the commotion that typically follows the team on away travels, Bangladesh has decided to make their home base in the peaceful village of Hatfield Heath, which is located in Essex County.
The Tigers completed their second day of practice at The Lays yesterday in preparation for their warm-up match against the Ireland Wolves, which will take place today at Fenner’s.
The Lays is a peaceful environment within a private school that features indoor amenities, center wickets, and side nets for cricket. The weather on Wednesday was windy and overcast, but on Thursday the squad was greeted by milder weather as they participated in the practice. It takes around half an hour to reach The Lays from the team accommodation, which is located in a remote farming environment.
Because of the necessity for privacy at the venues, the team management was given strict instructions not to take any photographs or movies while they were at the hotel or at the practice facility. They were only permitted to take a few photographs near the nets.
Mustafizur Rahman was also on his way to join the Tigers while Liton Das, who had just arrived in England the day before, was taking in the scenery and enjoying the cherry blossoms at a scenic location. On Wednesday, Nic Pothas, who has been brought on as an assistant coach, finally met up with the club for the first time, beginning his time with the squad over in England.
According to the schedule provided by Cricket Ireland, after the warm-up match that took place earlier today, the Tigers will have a day off to relax before beginning their practice sessions on May 7 and 8 at Fenners and Chemsford, respectively.
On May 9, the opening One-Day International (ODI) match of the series between the Tigers and Ireland will take place in Chelmsford. The Chief Executive Officer of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Nizamuddin Chowdhury, stated that Cricket Ireland had not yet been able to confirm whether or not the series will be telecast in this region, which has resulted in confusion over whether or not the series will be shown on any television stations in Bangladesh.
