Hridoy's 19 runs not enough as jaffna fall against kandy 0

In the Lanka Premier League game between Jaffna Kings and B-Love Kandy on Saturday at the Pallekelle International Cricket Stadium, Jaffna Kings lost to B-Love Kandy. Towhid Hridoy got 19 runs off of 22 balls.

Hridoy’s 19 runs pushed him to the top of the LPL scoring charts, giving him 141 runs in four games. However, it didn’t help Jaffna win that day, as they lost by eight wickets.

The right-handed opener hit three fours before trying to sweep leg-spinner Wanindu Hasaranga and getting caught at deep square leg.

After being given the chance to bat first, Jaffna could only get to 117 for nine.

Dunith Wellalage got the most runs with 38 in 27 balls, but Hasaranga and Nuwan Pradeep of Kandy each took three wickets, and Angelo Mathews added two to make sure Jaffna couldn’t make a big score.

Hasanranga’s unbeaten 55 off 22 balls, which included five sixes and three fours, helped Kandy reach their goal in 13 overs.
