Erling Haaland scored his 33rd goal of the season in Manchester City’s win over Arsenal, which broke the Premier League record for goals in a 38-game season. His goal also extended his lead in the race for the Golden Boot.

Haaland has broken Mohammed Salah’s record of scoring the most goals in 38 games by scoring more goals in the same period. Salah previously held the record since the 2017/18 season when he scored 32 goals for Liverpool’s Premier League campaign. However, Haaland has now surpassed that record.

Andrew Cole and Alan Shearer hold the record for the most goals scored in a Premier League season, both having scored 34 goals in 1993/94 and 1994/95 respectively when there were 42 matches in a season.

Haaland only needs to score two more goals in the next seven league games to break the record.
