Despite concerns regarding Kylian Mbappe’s contentment at Paris Saint-Germain due to his recent behavior, the French forward’s coach Luis Enrique maintains that he and the player have a “perfect” relationship.
During their 1-1 Champions League tie with Borussia Dortmund in Germany last week, Mbappe seemed irritated and dissatisfied in his teammates for having to settle for a point when a victory would have meant they would have won their group.
In Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Lille in Ligue 1, he played through the middle of the attack, departing from his regular preferred spot on the left wing. At moments, he appeared unhappy once more.
In response to a question on his relationship with Mbappe, Luis Enrique remarked, “As always, a perfect relationship,” during a news conference on Tuesday, the eve of PSG’s season-ending game against Metz at home.
The Spaniard said, “We are not a couple, but that is mainly because he doesn’t want us to be.”
“I have no idea why people ask me this question so frequently. Most of my players and I are quite close.”
“Kylian is always making jokes and laughing,” he stated.
On Wednesday, Mbappe, who has a contract that expires at the conclusion of this season, will celebrate turning 25.
“25 years old is really young. Luis Enrique remarked, “I hope he continues to have more success at PSG and that we can help him.”
“He is outstanding. He continued, saying, “We are fortunate to have him, a player who has scored 19 goals this season across all competitions.
