After suffering a knee injury during the second one-day international match against Afghanistan on Saturday, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) declared on Saturday that Ebadot Hossain will not be able to play in the third and final ODI against Afghanistan.

During the last over of the match, the pacer lost his balance after feeling pain in his knee during his run-up, and he afterwards hobbled off the field together with the physiotherapist.

The team physiotherapist, Muzadded Alpha Sany, stated that the injury was not a serious one, and he anticipates that the pacer would heal in two weeks’ time. However, because of this, Ebadot will be unable to play in either of the T20 internationals.

“According to the results of the MRI, this does not appear to be a serious injury. We anticipate that he will be back to normal in around two weeks’ time. “During the course of his rehabilitation, he will continue to be with the team,” he explained.

The first Twenty20 International of the two-game series is slated to take place on July 14, while the second game is going to be played on July 16. The stadium in Sylhet will play host to both of the matches.

However, the selectors have not yet decided who would take his position in the third one-day international.
