Brook stars as england clinch a thrilling victory0

On Sunday, the third and final test of the Ashes was played in England. The hosts were able to claw their way back into the series thanks to a gripping three-wicket victory that was gained by England thanks to a magnificent 75 from Harry Brook and some huge hitting from tailender Mark Wood.

On day four of the match, fans traveled to Headingley with the hopes of witnessing further heroics from England’s captain, Ben Stokes, on the pitch. Stokes’ astounding not-out score of 135 was a key factor in England’s thrilling triumph over their traditional rivals in 2019.

At the beginning of the day, England had 131 runs on the board and Stokes and Joe Root were at the crease. They needed to win by 224 runs in order to deny Australia from winning the Ashes and they had two matches left to play. England appeared to be in a good position with Stokes and Joe Root at the crease.

Root was out before lunch, and Stokes was out early in the afternoon session. However, Brook’s courageous effort brought England closer to their target, and Wood’s 16 off eight balls caused dramatic scenes of joy in Leeds.
