The Delhi Capitals have released Bangladeshi pacer Mustafizur Rahman from his contract ahead of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2019, according to Cricbuzz, a cricket website.
In the 2022 IPL auction, the franchise acquired Mustafizur for a basic price of INR two crores.
During his two seasons with the team, the left-arm bowler grabbed nine wickets at an economy rate of 8.3 in ten games.
Mustafizur’s fourth IPL team was Delhi. He started his IPL career in 2016 with the Sunriseres Hyderabad, moved to the Mumbai Indians in 2018, played for the Rajasthan Royals in the 2021 edition, and then spent a few seasons with Delhi.
According to Cricbuzz, Delhi would also be waiving the contracts of Rilee Rossouw, Phil Salt, Sarfaraz Khan, Aman Khan, and Rovman Powell in addition to Mustafizur.
By today, every IPL franchise is expected to declare their roster moves and releases in advance of the 2024 season.
