In the second one-day international of a three-match series against Bangladesh, which took place at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium on Saturday, New Zealand batsman Tom Blundell hit a fifty while putting together a 95-run stand with New Zealand teammate Henry Nicholls to help dig out the Blackcaps from a precarious position that saw them lose three wickets for 36 runs. The match was the second of a three-match series.

In the 26th over, Blundell hit five fours and reached his fifty in 54 deliveries, bringing New Zealand to 130 for three. However, in the very next over, the visitors were knocked back once again as they lost set hitter Nicholls with 49 runs on the board.

Khaled Ahmed, a fast bowler, came around the wicket and bowled a back-of-a-length delivery outside off-stump. After hitting 61 runs off of 61 balls with six fours and a six, the left-handed Nicholls attempted to direct the ball past third man but managed to nick it to the wicketkeeper, Liton Das.

Rachin Ravindra was sent to the crease after the dismissal of Nicholl, which put New Zealand four wickets behind with 131 to score.
